Springfield will
celebrate our nation’s independence in style with a full day and evening of
activities building up to the “largest fireworks in Vermont” at this year’s
Wings & Wheels Extravaganza on July 4th. The event will take place at Hartness
State Airport on Rt. 106 in North Springfield, Vermont.
Activities for the
family include the annual Big Rigs for Kids. Children can get a unique
up-close look at “big rigs”, from farm machinery to tractor-trailers and
other large equipment. The Three River Valley Regional Business-Educational
Partnership sponsors the “Big Rigs”.
Plus, there will be
vendors offering a great variety of food as well as a Classic Car Show that
will take place from 4 – 7 pm. There is a $5 entry fee for each vehicle participating
in addition to the admission fee. Look at the views from above with an
airplane ride from Crown Point Aviation for $25. Static ground aircraft
displays are expected as well.
The evening caps off
with the largest fireworks display this region has ever seen at
approximately 9:30 pm.
Admission is free for
the Wings & Wheels Extravaganza, but a suggested donation of $6/car is
appreciated at the gate. Event organizers have worked to ensure smooth
parking and traffic flow in and out of the event.
