LEADERSHIP SOUTHEAST VERMONT
Building Community Awareness and Participation
The
mission statement for Leadership Southeast Vermont is prepare
leaders to affect change in our communities, and foster civic awareness. The program is designed to create an
understanding of obligations and commitment to becoming “trustee” of our
communities.
The
class brings together people of diverse backgrounds, experiences and view, who
have a strong interest in becoming active leaders in their communities. Whether you know very little about the
community in which you live, or are already a member of numerous committees,
you could be a perfect candidate.
Leadership
Southeast Vermont is an intensive interactive program that runs from September
through June with a full day meeting once a month. Each meeting focuses on a community
theme. Through presentations, group
discussion, field trips and class projects, participants are immersed in the
many aspects and complexities of the issues facing our communities. Presenters include state and local officials
as well as community and business leaders, all of whom will become accessible
resources for leadership participants.
