Placid Lassie WWII C-47 Fly In
Join us on October 10th for an exciting first time opportunity! The Springfield Chamber of Commerce is flying in a historic World War II Warbird. Also known as the Skytrain, Placid Lassie is a C47 that served June 6th 1944 on D-Day at Normandy, flying over the English Channel.

On October 10th we are planning to host Ground Tours by expert docents and WWII reenactment ground troops at Hartness State Airport. We will additionally be submitting Springfield to the National Park's World War II Heritage City Program in recognition of our importance and contribution to our WWII efforts.
Springfield Art and Historical Society will host a WWII Museum display.
We are anticipating the Vermont Air National Guard flying in, a Parachute Troop Drop, and both Veterans+VIP flights on the Placid Lassie, though these 3 activities are still pending.
