It’s the most wonderful time of year! Santa Claus is coming to town, and we invite children and families to join us for Springfield's Annual Downtown Holiday Program! Once again, the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce and Springfield On The Move (SOM) are teaming up to bring an evening of family fun and cheer to the community! We invite businesses to decorate their windows in the spirit of the season to help enhance the magic of the atmosphere.
The event will be held on Friday, December 6th. Festivities will kick off with SOM’s popular Sticker Map, starting at 4pm at People's United Bank. The map will bring you on a little treasure hunt around the downtown area to visit various businesses and organizations, and at the end the kiddos can turn their completed maps in to SOM for a goodie bag filled with surprises and the opportunity to select from an assortment of handmade mittens and hats donated by Shirley Cooper and Lori Graves Maseda.
Dragonfly Designs will be sponsoring free hot cocoa at Flying Crow Coffee Co. And the Springfield Community Band will be providing wonderful live music for carolers starting at 5:30pm in the People’s United Bank parking lot.
As always, the Chamber has invited Santa to join us for our community tree lighting ceremony! Santa will make his grand entrance via firetruck at 6pm and select a lucky child to help him flip the switch. He will be on site in his special house in the People’s United Bank lot until 9pm, to visit with all the good girls and boys.
Santa will also be available for visits at his house the following dates:
Thurs. Dec. 12th: 4-7pm
Thurs. Dec. 19th: 4-7pm
Mon. Dec. 23rd: 4-7pm
