SPRINGFIELD LEGISLATIVE BREAKFAST FORUM

On Monday, March 20th a Legislative Breakfast was held at the Holiday Inn Express in Springfield. Co-hosted by the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce, Springfield Regional Development Corporation, Springfield On the Move and the Southern Windsor County Regional Planning Commission, this event was an opportunity for area townspeople to congregate with local legislators, to meet, ask questions, share concerns and ideas, and discuss some of the bills currently being reviewed in the House and Senate. The Legislators in attendance included Senator Alice Nitka and Senator Alison Clarkson, and House Representatives Alice Emmons, Bob Forguites, Annmarie Christensen, Thomas Bock, Charlie Kimbell, and John Bartholomew. Discussions involved education and the River Valley Tech Center, economic development and marketing efforts, health care, local prisons, TIF districts, workforce development, and a variety of other topics. Legislators shared news from Montpelier, addressed specific inquiries, and encouraged individuals to also visit legislature.vermont.gov to stay informed about their committee activities. Coverage of the event will be aired on SAPA TV, and can also be viewed on SAPA’s Facebook page.
