RIBBON CUTTING FOR ADVANCED SKIN CARE, WELLNESS & SPA

The Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce happily performed a ribbon cutting for Advanced Skin Care, Wellness & Spa in December to celebrate their new location in John Hall’s RS Business Block building at 368 River Street in Springfield. (Also the near-future new location of Graham & Graham, P.C. – Certified Public Accountants.) Advanced Skin Care owner Christina Cobb, originally from Mt. Holly, is excited about her larger space and the opportunity to offer an even better experience for her clients in the new setting. When asked how she first became interested in her field, Christina explained “I was given a gift certificate for a facial and when I walked into the spa I thought ‘This is what I want to do.’ I felt happy in such a calming environment.” In pursuit of a career in Esthetics, she took some college courses, did Esthetic training in Keene, and some of post graduate education in Peabody, MA. She continues to update her education extensively on an ongoing basis via webinars and spa conferences to stay on the cutting edge and provide the most current and valuable services and treatments to her clients.

She first started out working for a doctor in Keene, which is where a lot of her clinical background came from. She now runs a skin care clinic and day spa offering a complete menu of clinical skin care services as well as therapeutic stress reduction. Christina is proud of her location in Springfield and speaks highly of the community. “I love the town of Springfield and have worked at a local restaurant for 10 years before starting esthetics. I also worked at Woodbury’s doing floral design for years. So I’ve known the community for a long time and knew I wanted my business here. I also now live here and bought my first house in Springfield.”

Christina is obviously passionate about her business. Her favorite part of the job? Helping people feel good about themselves. “It’s a very rewarding field to be able to help people feel more confident or more relaxed. I’m able to help with their stress or a skin issue and it makes me happy. My clients are not just a file to me, I genuinely care about each and every one of them. Over the years, they have become more like family.” When working in such a fulfilling field, it’s not surprising that Christina couldn’t think of many aspects that she doesn’t enjoy, saying, “Honestly, I love my work, so I don't have bad days. I would say that the only hard part is the business side. Taxes and paperwork!!!” As a proud Chamber member, she always tries to donate whenever possible to local programs and good causes. “The Chamber helps support local businesses and brings us together as a community.”
