The new tradition of bringing a Winter Carnival to Springfield continues in 2017! Prepare yourselves for an amazing weekend of family-friendly winter fun at Crown Point Country Club on February 10th, 11th and 12th. This year’s event promises to be the biggest and best yet. Lace up your skates and enter a team of friends in the annual Broom Hockey Tournament. Put your creative skills to work and create a masterpiece for the Cardboard Sled Contest. (Rock ‘n’ Roll theme!) Connect with your family and build the best snowman the Snowman Competition has ever seen! Open skating and sledding will be available throughout the weekend (bring your own skates and sleds), as well as cross country skiing and snow shoeing. Crown Point Pub will be selling burgers, hotdogs, chili, fries and drinks. Looking to warm up indoors? New this year, delight in the circus magic and hilarious antics of internationally renowned one-man-show Troy Wunderle’s Big Top Adventures! Other indoor activities will include face painting with Mona Frye, story time, and kids’ crafts. Can’t get enough? Check out our newest event: Downhill Snow Kayaking Races! Sure to put the thrill in your chill! Still want more? Top it off with Fireworks, followed by an enormous bonfire, accompanied by outdoor music with DJ Mike Brehme! The spectacular winter fireworks display is sponsored by Atlas Fireworks and Kelley Sales and Service. (Parking for fireworks will be limited at Crown Point Country Club. FREE Shuttle Bus service will provide rides from Riverside Middle School between 5:30pm and 9:30pm on Saturday the 11th. The bus will drop off at the end of the driveway at Crown Point.) The Springfield Winter Carnival is brought to you by Springfield Parks and Recreation, the EdgarMay Health and Recreation Center, and local volunteers. 12 noon – 4pm: Wunderle’s Big Top Adventures & kids’ activities **New**
1pm: Broom Hockey Tournament
5pm – 9pm: Open Skating & Sledding, and music by DJ Mike Brehme
5:30pm: Announcement of Snowman Competition Winners
5:30pm – 9:30pm: FREE Shuttle Bus service from Riverside Middle School
