Like a good neighbor, State Farm is here. On Friday, January 6th, the Springfield Regional Chamber of Commerce welcomed State Farm Insurance to the neighborhood with a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at their Grand Opening, catered by Jake’s South Street Market. As new Chamber members, State Farm hosted an Open House to showcase their new location at 240 River Street in Springfield. Nearing their 100th Year as an organization, State Farm has long been providing their clients with Home, Business, Auto and Life Insurance, as well as banking services. Local owner Jerry Farnum says what truly motivated him to launch the business was the ability to associate with a world-class company known for its good reputation, financial strength, and dedication to giving back to communities. Although only recently opened, Jerry’s office has already donated $1500 to the Springfield Cosmos Pee Wee Program to pay for their 2017 away game jerseys, with plans to make additional contributions in the future. “It’s an opportunity to do something I love, which is to help people realize their dreams, and give back.” Born and raised in Springfield, Jerry has great pride for the town’s history and heritage. “Both sides of my family, the Farnums and the Lampheres, have had significant impacts in this community and I want to continue that tradition, providing jobs and services to the community I grew up in – the community we are raising our kids in.” The Springfield office currently employs four individuals, including his son Sean. Jerry and his wife Laura are grateful for the opportunity to expand as a family owned and operated business. He says he genuinely appreciates that State Farm aims to do everything with integrity, and “we help you protect from what can go wrong, so that you can invest in what can go right.” For more information, call 802-885-2939 or stop by their office and welcome them to the neighborhood!
